For some strange reason, I like Asuka. I don't know why. She's loud and demanding and if these qualities were in a real person, I probably wouldn't like her at all. Go figure. I've wanted to make an Asuka costume for a long time now. I finally did it!
This costume is made of costume satin (100% polyester) and is 100% machine washable (on extra delicate cycle, of course) which I like. Ah... the beauty of easy care costumes! I probably should have chosen a different fabric for the dress. Satin is too shiny. Asuka's dress should really be a flat yellow, not a shiny one. But I think the satin makes the dress just a little more classy. The easiest part of making this costume was the pattern. Usually, I have to make or alter patterns. But not this time. Lucky! The dress is based on Simplicity 8742. The barrettes are made of polymer clay.
Sadly... the dress doesn't fit me! *sniffles* The bust on this dress is too big for me. I look silly in it. I was hoping to *ahem* pad *ahem* my bust a bit, but that's not going to work. At all. I don't have enough cleavage for this... T_T ... I figured that out a little to late. So...
This dress is on SALE.
